2019-2020 Meeting Times and Dates!

We have a new board and we have the dates/times for next year’s meetings already to go! It has been a great 2018-2019 school year. We wish you all a fantastic summer and look forward to doing great things for the Unit 5 Music programs for the 2019-2020 school year!

  • Tuesday, November 19 @6:30 PM (please note  this is the 3rd Tuesday and this meeting is going to be in the Senior Cafe)

Unit 5 Music Public Fundraiser Calendar

This idea was well received and has begun being used. A embedded calendar is also on the U5MP website: https://unit5musicparents.wordpress.com/unit-5-music-public-fundraisers/ This is designed to help all departments “see” the bigger picture of what is going on with public fundraising for the other departments so we on’t have an overlap with days or locations.

We agreed that the position of the U5MP Secretary will manage and organize this in conjunction with the creation of Facebook Events and Website posts. It is suggested that Holly Johnson (current U5MP Secretary) at HollyJohnson2357@Gmail.com be included in the final communications about any upcoming fundraising events so it can be added to the PUBLIC calendar, a FB event can be created and also added to the U5MP website with links to any flyers needed or required. If any person or department ALSO wants to continue using their own department calendar for any PUBLIC fundraising opportunities, please continue to do so and just let Holly know.  The other calendars can be duplicated to the PUBLIC one and only a small fraction will be witness to duplicates, and that way the SAME information will continued to be offered.

Other fundraiser information that is not a public events such as band cheesecake orders or fruit orders are not needed for this calendar. This is for what we advertise to the public with FB Events and other external marketing. Please continue any internal marketing as is with the fundraisers that are student driven.

Chiddix Choirs Fundraiser @ HyVee November 17th and 18th

It’s Chiddix Choirs Weekend
at our Bloomington Hy-Vee store!

All day on November 17th and November 18th (2018).

Purchase your groceries during this weekend, and present the Evans Choirs Fundraiser Voucher to your cashier. Hy-Vee will donate 5% of the total weekend sales to our Chiddix Choir Program.

Evans Choirs Fundraiser

Chipotle Dine to Donate for Normal Marching Band on November 27th!

Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support Normal Marching Band. Come in to the Chipotle at 1601 East College Avenue Suite B in Normal on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Bring in this flyer, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 33% of the proceeds will be donated to Normal Marching Band.

Bring the flier to show or the image on your smartphone, or simply tell them you are wanting to support the NMB and 33% of the proceeds will be donated to the Normal Marching Band!!!!

Unit 5 Music Parents NCWHS Spaghetti Supper on November 5, 2018

Join us for a spaghetti dinner in the cafeteria and enjoy music performances in the auditorium, featuring bands, orchestras, and choirs from Parkside, Kingsley, and Normal West. The annual Spaghetti Supper, co-sponsored by the Unit 5 Music Parents Association and the Unit 5 Music Department, will be held on Monday, November 5th at Normal West High School. The dinner raises funds to supplement the financial needs of all Unit 5 Junior High and High School music programs.

Dinner will be served from 5:00-7:30 PM and there will be music performances in the auditorium from 5:00 – 9:00pm.

If you are planning on having a meal, we encourage you to purchase in advance from a music program student. The cost is $7.50 for Avanti’s spaghetti and bread, salad, drink and a cookie. The cost increases to $10.00 the week prior to the dinner and at the door. There is a gluten free meal available for $12.50; it must be purchased in advance. Tickets are not needed if you are attending only the musical performance(s).

Also, volunteers are essential to making this fundraiser a success. Go to the Normal West
SignUp Genius and be one of the many volunteers at the spaghetti supper that helps make it run smoothly.
