Music Parent Representative

A strong partnership between the director, music parent representative, and Unit 5 Music Parents Association Board can be a valuable asset to support the directors and music program in providing the best experience possible for the students.

Here is a overview of the expectations and responsibilities for Music Parent representative and Directors for Music Parents:

Music Parent Representative

  1. Attends and participates at the Music Parent meetings. Attendance is defined as 75% of the scheduled meetings for the year.  Representation is defined as assigned parent, the director, or a substitute sent in place of absence.
  2. Shares director’s report at the Music Parents meeting when the director is not present.
  3. Communicates with the director to share any needs of Music Parents.
  4. Shares and discusses meeting minutes and updates with their director.
  5. Provides feedback to Unit 5 Music Parents Association board members for continuous improvement.
  6. Collaborates with director to facilitate communication regarding Music Parents.
  7. Assist the director with activities related to the music program as needed.

Director

  1. Provides a Music Parent representative within the first month of school.
  2. Provides a report for the Music Parent representative to present at each Music Parent meeting.
  3. Collaborates with Music Parents representative to facilitate communication regarding Music Parents.
  4. Provides feedback to Unit 5 Music Parents Association board members for continuous improvement.
  5. Reviews balance sheet to ensure accuracy for individual program.
  6. Attends Music Parent meetings as able.
